My journey to happiness
I’m Marie, wife and mom of 2 young adult kids from Ontario, Canada.
Due to childhood trauma and limiting beliefs, I wasn’t really living my life but rather doing things that others wanted me to do as a wife, mother and employee. In 2020, I “woke up” and decided something needed to change.
Living the majority of my life feeling depression – with the negative thoughts – they consumed me and influenced my ability to live a happy life. I had to re-write the negative thoughts because they were standing in my way. And, they were with me every minute of the day, influencing how I lived my life.
This “work” that I had to do … started with the decision to ‘choose happy’ . This is what I did – and continue to do every day – and many others are now joining me in choosing happy for living their life.
When the personal development books aren't helping...
Living every day life with feelings of depression – with the negative thoughts – they consumed me and influenced my ability to live a happy life.
I turned to personal development books to help me find ‘happy’ but, nothing really worked. Until, I discovered the self-help tool of affirmations.
I had to re-write the negative thoughts because they were standing in my way. And, they were with me every minute of the day, influencing how I lived my life.

Early in my journey, I turned to personal development books to help me find ‘happy’ but, nothing really worked. Until, I discovered the self-help tool of affirmations.
I started with affirmations that I found online but, they didn’t quite work for me. Then, I learned how to write my own … and, they worked! Slowly I started cultivating a positive mindset which got me on the path to finally living a happy life.
How to shift that negative inner chatter...
We can be really hard on ourselves and if we just got out of our own way, we could have the life that we really want instead of just “tolerating” the everyday reality that we have learned to accept.
